Education

Dr. Satinover is board-certified in adult and geriatric psychiatry, with a year of child psychiatry fellowship, all at Yale University. He has been in psychiatric practice since 1986 and is a diplomate Jungian psychoanalyst (Zurich, 1974). Dr. Satinover holds degrees from MIT, Harvard, Yale, the University of Texas and the University of Nice where he earned a PhD in physics (complex systems theory) in 2009 with highest honors. He is the author of five books and 50 articles and book chapters. He has been a Burroughs-Welcome Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Lustman Research Prize winner at Yale. He has taught psychiatry, psychopharmacology and team-based treatment to non-MD therapists at the Jung Institute in Zurich and Behavioral Finance at the Lorange Business School also in Switzerland. He has been a visiting faculty member at Princeton University, and at the Swiss Institute of Technology. He was Distinguished Visiting Professor at the King’s College in New York and is a former William James Lecturer in Psychology and Religion at Harvard.
