Education

Dr. Mays completed his undergraduate degree with Summa Cum Laude distinction and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine with his medical degree. Dr. Mays completed his psychiatric residency training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (now renamed University of Colorado School of Medicine). He has been working at Porter Adventist Hospital for over 10 years and currently serves in both clinical and administrative leadership roles. Dr. Mays is supportive of a variety of treatment modalities - where clinically appropriate - including: psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and neuromodulation [which includes transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)]. He believes that working to develop an understanding of a patient's current experience and their stressors, combined with incorporating a longitudinal view of their life, are profoundly helpful to forming a therapeutic alliance and informing a well-developed individualized treatment plan. Dr. Mays holds a deep appreciation for the complex overlay of psychological and biological factors contributing to behavioral health presentation.

Board Certifications: American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology Dr. Wang believes in the combination of medication, psychotherapy, and brain stimulation therapies, when indicated, to provide the greatest likelihood of long-term success. She uses an integrative approach and considers all aspects of wellness for her patients. For some patients, medication, TMS or ECT may be essential, for but others, intensive outpatient therapy, substance abuse support, or behavioral interventions may be the most important. She works to meet patients where they are and to support them in achieving their goals.
